Gaps and Future Need

• Need to identify the farmer’s real need and it should be region specific, if possible more extensive. We do not have enough research in the field of farmer’s basic need for advanced crop cultivation.
• Pro-activeness of extension department as well as private organization
• Involvement in training and research activities for agricultural professionals of Govt. and non-govt. organization.
• Digitalization of farming system. Farming system should be digitalized for commercialization of farming instead of subsistence farming system. Digitalization can help to serve farmers instantly by extension officials as well as they can communicate immediately, if they face any problem of crop cultivation due to pest, disease, etc. Through digitalization process a details farmer’s database will help the policy level to future plan of crop production.
• Engagement of private sector in Agriculture research (eg.farming system research, variety development research). Government is not capable to produce or supply of huge quantity of agricultural input for growing needs of farmers. And also private sector should take the responsibility to provide best quality inputs for higher production. Proper way is private sector will do business and government should be involved in monitoring
• Capacity development of extension officials as well as researchers.
